AI staff: the support team your management consultancy never hired
In a consultancy the people who win the work also deliver it, and write the proposals, update the CRM and file the expenses in between. When engagements are busy, business development stops, and the pipeline shows it later. AI staff can draft the proposal, chase the receipts and arrange the workshop dates. Partners keep the judgement and the client.
What a partner does between client days
Proposals and engagement letters
After a first meeting a partner writes the proposal in the evening: scope, approach, team, day rates, terms. Most of it sits in earlier proposals, somewhere in SharePoint. Public sector work adds a tender response, often under a framework such as the Management Consultancy Framework Four. Then comes the engagement letter, before anyone starts.
Business development and the CRM
Prospecting is the first thing dropped when delivery is busy. Nobody researches the target list, the follow-ups from last month's event go unsent, and HubSpot or Salesforce fills with contacts nobody has updated since the pitch. Nobody can forecast from it, and the gap between engagements arrives unannounced.
Expenses and associates' invoices
Consultants travel to client sites, and the engagement letter says expenses are recharged at cost. So every train ticket and hotel bill needs its receipt before the client's invoice can leave Xero, and VAT is reclaimed on a valid invoice, not a card statement. The operations manager chases consultants and associates at month end.
Diaries, workshops and write-ups
An engagement runs on meetings. Stakeholder interviews, workshops and steering groups each need several diaries to line up across two organisations, and an executive assistant, or the consultant, trades emails for days to fix one date. Afterwards the notes and actions are written up by the most senior person in the room, late.
Roles for Management consultancies
Quote and proposal preparation
Drafts the proposal from your meeting notes, your rate card and the nearest past proposals, and prepares the engagement letter from your template. A partner sets the scope and the fee and approves every page.
Outbound prospecting
Researches your target list, screens each organisation against the UK's email marketing rules and drafts a first email. You approve the list, the wording and the first batch; every reply goes to a consultant.
Expense and receipt chasing
Chases consultants and associates for receipts and claims before month end and matches each to its engagement, ready to recharge. Approving a claim, and anything outside your expenses policy, stays with the operations manager.
Meeting follow-up and notes
Writes up the workshop or steering group from the transcript or your notes, sends actions to their owners and chases them before the next meeting. What the minute records is the consultant's call; they approve it.

You approve.
We manage.
You donโt need a complex new platform. Your AI worker operates inside your existing tools under human supervision.
Human-in-the-loop
High-impact actions (sending emails, updating compliance records) wait for explicit human approval before execution.
A full audit trail
Every action is logged with who approved it, and we go through it with you each month.
Nothing to maintain
If a workflow breaks or a system changes, we fix it. Keeping it running is our job.
UK-hosted and kept separate
Your data is stored in the UK, and is never used to train AI models.
Questions owners ask
Can an AI agent write our proposals?
It can write a first draft, assembling scope, approach, team biographies and terms from your notes and your past proposals, in your template. The thinking that wins the work, the fee and the final wording stay with the partner, who approves it before it is sent.
Is it legal to send cold emails to prospects in the UK?
To companies, LLPs and other corporate bodies, yes: the ICO says PECR's consent rule does not cover them. Sole traders and some partnerships count as individuals and need to have consented, unless the soft opt-in applies to an existing customer. Every email must name the sender and offer an opt-out; UK GDPR applies when a named person is emailed. This is not advice.
Does an agent need to sit in our client meetings?
No. It can work from the meeting's transcript, if you and your client have agreed to record, or from a consultant's rough notes. The write-up is a draft until the consultant approves it. Whether a client meeting is recorded at all is your decision and your client's, not ours.
Which decisions never leave a partner?
The client relationship, the advice, the fee and the decision on what is sent. An AI worker drafts and chases. A named person approves each proposal, the prospecting list and its wording before any email goes, and each note to a client. Phone calls stay with your people: these roles work in writing.
